The visa issued by the embassies and consulates in Thailand for foreigners who want to work, operate a business or invest in Thailand.

1 – Required Documents

– Passport with a validity period is over 6 months for a single entry and 18 months for multiple entries to the date of entry into the Thai territory
– Visa application form duly completed
– A photograph of the applicant taken full face, bareheaded, 4×6 cm, recent (less than 6 months)
– A professional letter (in some cases the commercial register may request)
– Marriage certificate and birth certificate of applicant’s children if the family followed in Thailand

It may possibly be asked to present an international airfare paid and / or proof of financial responsibility (minimum of 20,000 baht per person or 40,000 baht per family)

2 – Rates of non-immigrant visa category B

€ 50 for a single-entry visa and € 120 for a multiple entry visa.

(These rates current at 01.01.2009 can change over time)

3 – Validity of non-immigrant visa category B

The validity of the Class B non-immigrant visa is valid for 3 months.

4 – Validity of stay of nonimmigrant visa

It is initially granted the applicant a residence permit for 90 days and may be extended for a period of one year from the date of entry by the immigration service.

5 – Extension of stay

The holder of a B visa, after obtaining a work permit (work permit), may request an extension for a period of one year of his BA visa for business or IB for investment.

6 – Additional information

a) applicant’s family

The family of the applicant, ie spouses, parents and children under 20 singles who want to stay in Thailand with the applicant must apply for a nonimmigrant visa category O that will allow them to stay 90 days may be renewed for a period of one year from the date of entry into the Thai territory.

b) Change of visa

Foreigners hold a transit visa or a tourist TS TR wishing to invest in Thailand may apply for change of nonimmigrant visa category O with the immigration service located Soi Suan Plu, South Sathorn Road, Bangkok 10120. Tel. (662) 287-3101 -10

c) Investors

Foreigners wishing to invest in Thailand at least 2 million baht will benefit from facilities for obtaining their long stay visa.

7 – Special Cases

Nationals of the following countries: Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Palestine, India, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Libya, Nepal, Pakistan, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Syria, Yemen, have an obligation to apply for visa at the Consulate of Thailand their country of residence.

ATTENTION

Foreigners working in Thailand must hold a work card.

– Foreigners who work without having obtained the work permit is liable to a sentence of three months in prison and / or a fine of 5,000 baht

– An alien who would perform work reserved for Thais incurs a sentence of five years in prison and / or a fine of 10,000 baht.
