Description:
Nathon Bay is home to a small city where most of the local population. The beach is not really attractive, but the city is worth a stop. Visit the fresh market allowing you to discover the different varieties of fruits and vegetables typical of southern Thailand. To access the ferry dock to Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and Surathani, you will turn right at the main intersection.

At the entrance to Nathon town, at the end of a small street on the left is the Catholic Church of St. Anna, followed by a typical school in Thailand. At the end of Nathon Town, always on the left of the road you will find a nice little temple (Wat Chaeng) in a quiet, shady park.


Best mountain viewOn top of the "Best Mountain View"
A little further on the road to the south, there is the path to the "Best Mountain View Point" peaking at 467 m. The entrance to the road, a little hard to see, is just past the temple. Follow the sign "Tazan View". If you are confident in your driving skills, you can try the 6 km path for a simple but delicious lunch on the deck of a restaurant overlooking Maenam and Bophut Bay, and if the weather permits, enjoy a splendid view on the island of Phangan. The first 5 km are paved, but the last km is land, quite slippery (not recommended in case of rain). If you do not want to risk driving yourself on this path, many companies located near the port on the road to the beach offer you leading excursions by Land Rover driven by professionals.

The road to the waterfall and the Temple Hin Lad is about one km after leaving the city and is indicated by a large sign. After 3 km in a straight line on a paved road, you will find several shops and the temple. To achieve the interesting part of the waterfall, you must drive about 3 km on foot. Arrived at the waterfall, a pool you can swim there if the water level is sufficient.
