Description:
On the east coast, 10 km south of Chaweng, Lamai Beach is the second most popular beach on the island. From the main road, you will turn left from Chaweng. The sand is not too late but the beach is great, and the sea front fully lined with coconut gives a tropical feel more calmer and a little wild. Since there is no coral reef to break the waves, the sea is a little rough.

Although the night is alive again, this small town is a good average between places too isolated and sometimes too crowded Chaweng.

Lamai also has a wide selection of accommodation, from luxurious resort hotel via standard bungalows to the simpler less expensive. The room you're looking for is certainly available!

Lamai MassageLamai is a small town in sparsely populated but definitely alive and well, especially at night with its many bars. Of course, there are many restaurants, shops and grocery stores, and of course the inevitable "Foot massage and thai massage." Kayaks and snorkelling equipment (masks, fins and snorkels) are for rent directly on the beach.

On the main street along the beach, attractions also include meditation centers, diving clubs and a school of Thai boxing. The main street is very narrow for traffic and, again, we recommend driving very carefully!

The few local attractions are the open market, the old monastery and the museum. If you like walks, explore the paths from the beach through which you pass through coconut groves and plantations of fruit trees and discover many more paths leading to the interior of the island.

grandfatherMore down Lamai are the famous "Grandfather and Grandmother rocks" (rocks Grandfather and Grandmother). Further south, on a blue ocean and tropical sky, you will find the temple of Silangu, one of two golden pagodas of Samui.

Don't forget the free boxing stadium at the center of Lamai every Saturdays. Start at 11 pm !

Panoramic view of the road to Lamai
Further south, some hotels have nestled in beautiful small secluded bay surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and refreshing. Ideal for a romantic getaway or family vacation!

North on the road to Chaweng, you can enjoy many views overlooking the bay of Chaweng Mon and Laem Nam. Accessible and have large parking lots to be able to have lunch in one of the few restaurants panoramic settled there.
